Top 10 Funniest Lawsuits filed in court: When we imagine a courtroom, we see a place where important and unpleasant problems are argued. But there are instances when you can’t help but smile when you read or hear about someone suing another person or group of people for something ridiculous. Do you recall the incredible liability claim involving a fast food establishment and spilled hot coffee?

1. Kidnapper sues hostages for escaping

Jesse Dimmick, a fugitive wanted for murder, abducted a Kansas couple in September 2009. He eventually fell asleep, and they were able to flee. They sued Dimmick for more than $75,000 in damages. He responded by suing for breach of contract. He stated that he and the couple had a legally enforceable oral agreement for them to keep him hidden from the cops. His lawsuit was thrown out.

These claims of the plaintiff are incredibly ridiculous to make this suit top the list of Funniest Lawsuits.

2. Husband sues wife over ‘ugly’ baby

Boy finds a lovely girl, marries her, and they have children. However, one such story did not have such a fairytale conclusion. Jian Feng of China saw his newborn daughter, who he described as “extremely ugly” and unresembling either parent. He accused his wife of infidelity.

She acknowledged at that time that she had multiple cosmetic operations before they met. He filed a false pretences lawsuit, saying she deceived him by concealing her cosmetic background. He won the lawsuit, and his wife was ordered to pay him more than $120,000 in restitution.

3. Man sues date for being on her phone

Many individuals have a tale of a bad date, but most would forget about it as soon as it was done. However, a 37-year-old man from Austin, Texas, couldn’t get over his poor date and sued his date. He was so irritated that his date spent her time on her phone while they were in the movies watching “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.”

He claimed her actions violated theatre policies and harmed his movie-going experience. She promised to give him $17.31 for her movie ticket if he would leave her alone. Soon after he quickly dropped the complaint.

This suit makes us regret not suing all the bad dates we had ever in life. Hence, it deserved a mention in the Funniest Lawsuits list.

4. Empty space in Junior Mints boxes

Remember, how we always wanted to sue Potato Chips companies for selling us air more than chips? Yes! This individuals are living that dream. Which secure them a position in the 10 Funniest Lawsuits list.

Tootsie Roll Industries Inc deceived individuals by underfilling Junior Mints boxes, according to Biola Daniel and Abel Duran of New York and Trekeela Perkins of Mississippi.

They filed a lawsuit against the corporation because more than a third of the mints’ box was empty. In a 44-page judgement, the judge who rejected the complaint stated that a reasonable buyer can anticipate some unoccupied space.

5. Waiting on a Train

Gayane Zokhrabov, 58, of Illinois, attempted to sue the estate of Hiroyuki Joho, 18, who died in a railway accident in 2008. Joho dashed over the tracks while attempting to catch an approaching Metra train and was hit by an Amtrak train going at 70 mph. Parts of the deceased victim’s corpse struck Zokhrabov as she was waiting on a neighbouring railway station, wounding her shoulder, wrist, and knee.

The lower court judge rejected the unusual case, claiming that because the young guy was dead, he couldn’t foresee where his body would strike. Later, an appeals court disagreed, ruling that it was “reasonably foreseeable” that a high-speed crash would kill Joho and hurl his flying body parts into throngs of waiting people.

6. Man claims Uber ruined his marriage

A French businessman sued Uber for $48 million, saying that a defect in the ride-sharing company’s software contributed to his divorce. According to the businessman, he took his wife’s phone and used it to access the Uber app. He said that a bug in the programme enabled it to continue sending alerts of his whereabouts to his wife’s phone even after he signed out, and that some of his activities allegedly caused an issue with his wife, resulting in their divorce. The suit’s outcome remains unknown.

The tragic divorce story deserved a special metion in the list of Funniest Lawsuits.

7. Trespassers sue property owners

A federal jury awarded $24.2 million to two men who were seriously burnt by electrical wires while trespassing on railroad property in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 2002. Amtrak and Norfolk Southern Corp. attorneys contended the two males, who were 17 at the time of the tragedy, were mature enough to understand they were placing themselves in risk.

While admitting his clients were trespassers, the plaintiffs’ counsel stated that the property owners were nonetheless liable for the damages.

8. Tuition Non-Refundable

When Trina Thompson of New York was unable to find work after graduating from Monroe College, she launched a $72,000 lawsuit against her former university in 2009. Thompson, who finished with a 2.7 GPA, claimed the college’s career services department did not give enough assistance with her job hunt and gave students with high grades preferential treatment.

She was attempting to recoup the $70,000 she had spent on tuition for her bachelor’s degree in computer technology, as well as an additional $2,000 for the stress she had experienced throughout her three-month job hunt.

10. Student sues for A+

Delekta, a student at Memphis High School in Michigan, thought his work as a paralegal in his mother’s law firm for one of his classes deserved an A+ rather than an A. His family filed a lawsuit to get the grade raised to A+, which would have made him valedictorian of his class. The lawsuit also requested that the release of class rankings be halted until the dispute was resolved. The plaintiff was defeated.
