The main Lollapalooza festival is hosted yearly in Chicago’s Grant Park, Illinois. Due to the festival’s popularity, it is now also held in South American and European locations.

Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, Green Day, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Baby, and Kygo will headline the Lollapalooza Chicago event. 

Glass Animals, Charli XCX, Big Sean, Maneskin, Turnstile, King Princess, Denzel Curry, Caroline Polachek, Muna, Kaskade, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Tove Lo, Horsegirl, Liquid Stranger, Wet Leg, Young Nudy, 100 Gecs, Midwxst, Willow, and Jazmine Sullivan are also on the Lollapalooza 2022 lineup this year. 

This year’s Lollapalooza lineup was announced on Tuesday, March 22nd.

How much do Lollapalooza 2022 Tickets Cost?

For one day, a general admission ticket costs $130; for four days, it costs $375. GA+ was $225 for a single day and $ for multiple days. 

The price of a VIP ticket is $500 for one day and $1600 for four. 

The most expensive option, platinum, costs $2000 for a day and $4200 for four days.  

Children under 10 are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult who has a ticket.

More than 385,000 people attended Lollapalooza in 2021. Before the pandemic, in 2019, there were 400,000 people.

What to wear to Lollapalooza?

You can wear pretty much anything you want to Lollapalooza 2022 because there isn’t exactly a dress code. Just make sure it is very comfortable. Avoid flip-flops and heels because they don’t exactly help you to dance all night long! 

One final tip regarding what to wear to Lollapalooza 2022: be prepared for the July heat in Chicago. Chicago experiences lows of 70° and highs of 80° during Lollapalooza. 

So, when it’s daylight, wear sunglasses to protect your eyes.  You may dance all you want if you wear breathable fabrics. But if it gets chilly later on in the evening, layering is also your friend. Also, keep in mind how unpredictable Chicago’s weather is. To be safe, you might want to bring a poncho.

Transportation and Parking Tips

  • Peak traffic and entry at Lollapalooza are between 2 pm and 5 pm. Try reaching before and after this time to avoid getting caught in traffic.
  • CTA and Metra services run trains/buses with adjusted schedules convenient for Lolla goers.
  • Several streets will have closures. Check updated info on this before leaving for Lolla.
  • If you’re driving to Lolla, make sure you book parking near Grant Park as soon as you can.
