About Shark Week 2022
The summer’s signature programming spectacular, Shark Week, returns to Discovery on July 24! Join Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the first Master of Ceremonies, as he guides viewers through more than 20 hours of never-before-seen film, pictures, and stories guaranteed to pump up your adrenaline. The main stars are the fierce fish that comb the waters in quest of prey, however special guests like Tracy Morgan and the cast of Jackass make appearances!
With some of the top biologists and researchers in the world, viewers will travel to unusual places across the world such as Papua New Guinea and the Exuma Islands in the Bahamas. The week will highlight new technology and approaches used to gather crucial migration data, showing how scientists are learning about these amazing creatures. There might even be a brand-new species to discover! Johnson introduces the show each night with a special message that encourages viewers to discover that sharks are more than just apex predators and that Polynesian culture values their spirit.
