The ChatGPT application for Apple’s iPhone is now accessible in a wider variety of nations, including the United Kingdom and France. The AI chatbot developed by OpenAI has not yet been ported across to Android operating systems as of yet.
The OpenAI ChatGPT app for iPhones is expanding its availability to additional nations. According to a tweet by the company’s CTO, Mira Murati, the application can be downloaded in the countries of Albania, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Brazil, South Korea, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and Nicaragua. Murati also mentioned that the application will soon be made available in other countries.
It’s possible that India, a country where chatbots run on AI (artificial intelligence), are slowly gaining popularity, may also be included in the next phase of development. There is currently no ChatGPT app for Android phones available to download.
The online version of ChatGPT was made available to the general public towards the end of the previous year and has since become one of the most popular debuts in technology. The chatbot rapidly eclipsed Instagram and TikTok as the fastest-growing platform in the world, recording 100 million users in the first two months following its launch. This enabled it to surpass TikTok as the platform with the most user growth. Users of smartphones have access to the platform via the web version, which can experience technical difficulties at times.
The ChatGPT website’s functionality is replicated in the mobile application, including the provision of conversational solutions to enquiries that are particularly complex. Through the use of ChatGPT, lengthy articles can also be updated, app code reviews can be carried out, and mathematical challenges can be addressed.
Users that pay the monthly fee of $20 (or Rs 1,655) for ChatGPT Plus have access to additional services such as plugin support, instant answers, and no wait time. These perks are also promised to existing Plus members who access the service through Apple’s iOS app.
Downloading the Microsoft Bing app enables users in countries where the ChatGPT app is not yet available to make use of the Bing Chat conversational tool. This tool, which is comparable to the one found in ChatGPT, enables users to acquire immediate responses. On the other hand, the user-facing app version of Google’s ChatGPT competitor Bard has not yet been released.
