Windows Central recently announced the debut date for 22H2. Microsoft has been testing Windows 11 22H2 for several months, and it will include quite a few great features such as app folders in the Start menu, drag and drop on the taskbar, and new touch gestures and even animations.

The task manager menu is being updated with a new night mode, command bar, and efficiency mode to limit app resource consumption. The tech titan is also looking into tabs for File Explorer, which should be available in another 22H2 update (later than September 20, 2022). According to The Verge, the other update will also include ‘suggested actions.’

What is next for Microsoft?

According to The Verge, Microsoft is also planning to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Surface with new products this fall. These Surface devices will almost certainly come preloaded with the new 22H2 version of Windows 11. So, will users be able to able to use the software update before September 2022?

Microsoft has yet to officially announce a release date for Windows 11 22H2 or any hints about a possible Surface event. Microsoft will come back to personal tech events by October with its Ignite conference, which will occur in Seattle from the 12th to the 14th of October.

Windows 11’s differences from Windows 10

Windows 11 is a significant design shift that aims to simplify the user experience and reduce clutter. Many elements are influenced by Windows 10X, the defunct Windows 10 spin-off designed for touchscreen devices. Microsoft appears to be working hard to make Windows 11 a great operating system for a wide range of devices and form factors.

Windows 11 is also available for all eligible laptops and PCs, either through Settings or by downloading it manually. Aside from a Mac or Chromebook, nearly every other 2022 laptop runs Windows 11, so there are already a lot of options. Despite its simple design, Windows 11 contains a plethora of different elements, many of which are worth exploring in greater depth.

Microsoft as the leading desktop OS

It’s been more than six years since the last major release of Windows, and a lot has changed in the operating system space since then. Microsoft is back with a vengeance to create a modern version of the Windows user experience that is simple to use, beautifully designed, and well-connected, all in an effort to increase your productivity in professional or creative workflows.

In a world where more and more people are returning to using PCs in their daily lives, Microsoft decided it was critical to release a new operating system designed for a generation who sees the world through small screens every day. Even in the economic sector, Microsoft’s business model is one in which they attempt to meet the needs of multiple, competing OEMs and customers. This makes them more technically vulnerable, if only because they cannot maintain the more secure platform of leading companies like Apple, but it also allows them to meet the needs of a much larger customer base.
