Despite recent criticism, Ronaldo’s Instagram following demonstrates how much he is loved.

The former Real Madrid player, on the other hand, is unconcerned about his fan base and is currently focused on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he is scheduled to play for Portugal against Ghana in their World Cup opening on Thursday.

The World Cup is the only major title that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is lacking from his remarkable career.

After winning the European Championships in 2016, this will most likely be his final chance to win the championship.

Cristiano Ronaldo claimed to be ‘bulletproof’

On Monday, a defiant Cristiano Ronaldo claimed to be ‘bulletproof,’ speaking publicly for the first time since Manchester United threatened to fire him over his interview with Piers Morgan.

During an unexpected press conference at Portugal’s World Cup camp in Qatar, Ronaldo insisted, ‘I speak when I want to.’

Before Portugal’s Group H opening against Ghana on Thursday, the 37-year-old United star advised reporters to address any questions on the explosive interview to him and not the rest of the squad.

Ronaldo’s Old Trafford career was virtually over after he insulted the club, the owners, manager Erik ten Hag, and some of his teammates during a two-part, 90-minute interview with Morgan.

United’s attorneys have begun the first steps for cancelling the remainder of Ronaldo’s contract, which would have paid him £16 million.

‘I am bulletproof – I wear an iron suit,’ Ronaldo explained. ‘The best time in my life is always my timing. I’m not concerned with what other people think. I only speak when I want to.

‘The players have known me for many years and understand the type of person I am and what I believe in.’

‘It’s an ambitious, hungry, and driven group.’ So I’m confident the interview will not disrupt the dressing room’s concentration and focus.

‘Stop inquiring about me among my teammates. I’d be upset if you asked other players about Cristiano Ronaldo. If you wish to ask them about the World Cup and the team, please do so.’

Ronaldo also denied reports of a schism with teammates Bruno Fernandes and Joao Cancelo.

When the Portugal squad met in Lisbon last week, both players were seen having tense encounters with Ronaldo.

‘I made a joke with Bruno, with whom I have a great relationship,’ Ronaldo added. ‘His flight was delayed, so I inquired if he had arrived by boat.’

‘It was a prank, much like Joao Cancelo. I picked him up because he was sad. The changing room has a fantastic atmosphere. There are no issues.’
