It is standard practise in the industry for mobile app developers to gather user information in order to enhance their product and increase revenue. According to a new study that was published on Tuesday, mobile games like Call of Duty Mobile, Candy Crush Saga, and Carrom Pool: Disc Game in India are the most data-intensive games. According to the information security company Surfshark, the two most popular games, Ludo King and Subway Surfers, are ranked 38th and seventh, respectively, in terms of their “data hungriness.”

Noteworthy is the fact that only the video game Subway Surfers collects location and contact information at a rate that is higher than the national average of 9.3. According to the findings of the study, the games Ludo King and Subway Surfers also use players’ personal information to target them with advertising from third parties.

There are 50 popular mobile gaming applications in India, and 38 of them make use of or exchange user data for the purpose of advertising provided by a third party. When apps collect exact location data, they have the potential to divulge sensitive information about their users. This information could include the users’ home addresses, places of employment, daily routines, or frequently frequented locations.

Eight Ball Pool, Subway Surfers, and Gardenscapes are three of the top 10 programmes in terms of the amount of data they utilise. In the course of our research, we found that Traffic Rider, Mini Militia-War.io, and Among Us were the video games that invaded users’ privacy the least. In the 510 most popular games, 492 of them collect user information, and 446 of them allow monitoring across the applications and websites of other firms. These games are played in 60 different countries.

Users have the ability to review privacy-nutrient labels on both the Apple App Store and Google Play before downloading an application. The label will assist you in noticing the data that is necessary for the programme to perform properly.
