According to a tweet from the urban master developer Dubai South, the largest airport in the world will be built in Dubai, coupled with a free zone that will be beneficial to business and housing opportunities.

The largest single urban master development in Dubai is located in Dubai South, which spans an area that is a total of 145 square kilometres. Its primary focus is on an aviation and logistics ecosystem that, once fully functional, will be home to the busiest and most important airport in the entire globe. In addition to this, it has a transportation system that connects land, air, and sea in a multi-modal fashion.

It is possible that by the year 2050, Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai South will have the capacity to process 255 million passengers each year, making it the largest airport in the world.

The Dubai South Twitter account just posted the following: “#DubaiSouth will be home to the world’s largest airport once it is completed, and a multi-modal transport infrastructure linking air, land, and sea.” In addition to the benefits that come with being located in a tax-free zone that is welcoming to businesses, it will also provide a wide variety of different residential possibilities.

According to rumours from the beginning of the year, Al Maktoum International Airport, better known as Dubai World Central (DWC), was supposed to receive a Dh120 billion ($33 billion) expansion this year. DWC stands for Dubai World Central.

The terminals of Dubai’s second international airport, which have the capacity to hold between 5 and 7 million passengers, first opened for cargo operations on June 27, 2010, however passenger flights didn’t start flying there until October 2013. When it is finished, DWC will have the capacity to welcome more than 160 million travellers on a yearly basis, making it the largest global gateway in the world. In addition, there will be a multi-modal logistics complex there that can handle up to 12 million tonnes of freight.

According to data provided by Airports Council International (ACI), Dubai International (DXB) has remained in first place as the world’s busiest airport in terms of the number of passengers travelling internationally for the eighth year in a row.
