Google’s New Pixel Notepad

Google

It is rumored that Google is developing its first foldable smartphone, which is anticipated to be unveiled this year. Some of the critical information about this new upcoming smartphone has appeared online ahead of its release.

According to the most recent news, Foxconn will produce Google’s foldable smartphone, which might be called Pixel Fold or Pixel Notepad. For those who don’t know, Foxconn also serves as an Apple iPhone contract manufacturer.

A patent that might be relevant to the Pixel Fold’s “ultra-micro-hole camera” has been found by 91mobiles. The Pixel Fold and the Pixel Notepad have been the subject of numerous rumors. Still, information regarding an “ultra-micro-hole camera” was only recently made public by Digital Chat Station. Instead of using an under-display camera (UDC) like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, the leaker claims that Google has developed a camera system that can be integrated into the frame of a foldable tablet.

Pricing and availability

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Pixel Notepad are both projected to start at around $1,000, and the Pixel Notepad is anticipated to be priced in the same range as conventional foldables.

Is it truly expensive? Yes, but the cost to produce foldables is high. We can anticipate that foldables will stay pricey as long as companies don’t achieve the economies of scale that allow them to lower component pricing. According to a report from 9to5Google, the corporation wants to charge $1,400, which is precisely what we predicted.

Even more challenging is availability. Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) display analysts anticipated that Google would launch the Pixel Notepad last year, but they were wrong. After that, given the previous “delay,” it is anticipated later this year.

The release date for Pixel Notepad

Overconfident leakers have given us the idea for months that Google intends to introduce a foldable Pixel phone at the same time as the Pixel 6 in the fall of 2021. After the Pixel launch event was over, the release date was changed to March 2022 to coincide with Android 12L.

When that didn’t occur, we were informed by DSCC CEO Rick Young that Google would start producing their foldable device in Q3 2022 with a release date goal of Q4 2022. The Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch are scheduled to launch in the fall of 2022, as well as the Pixel Tablet in early 2023, but there was no mention of any foldable phones during Google I/O 2022.

According to recent launch rumors, the Pixel Notepad will appear in the spring of 2023. However, that will only happen if there’s no further delay.

Pixel Notepad specs

The 7.6-inch OLED screen on the Google Pixel Notepad has a resolution of 1768 x 2208 pixels. The selfie camera is housed in a punch-hole cutout on the screen. The display panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and features a 372 PPI pixel density. The gadget boasts security measures like a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and support for face unlock. The Pixel Notepad comes pre-installed with Android 12 on the software front.

Within the phone, Google has installed its own Google Tensor chipset. Additionally, it has an octa-core processor that operates at a maximum frequency of 2.8GHz and has a Cortex X1, Cortex A76, and Cortex A55 architecture. Additionally, a Titan M2 coprocessor, a Mali-G78 MP20 GPU, and 12GB RAM support the primary processor.

Pixel Notepad is powered by a 5000mAh Li-ion battery that supports fast charging.

There are 12 GB and 256 GB of internal storage and RAM requirements for the phone, respectively.
