Shehzada Dawood and his son Suleman, both from Pakistan, were reportedly onboard the five-person expedition submarine that vanished more than a day earlier off the coast of southern Canada when it was transporting visitors to examine the remains of the Titanic. The incident occurred while the submarine was carrying the tourists to the Titanic debris.

In a statement, the family members said, “We are very grateful for the concern that is being shown by our colleagues and friends and would like to request that everyone pray for their safety.”

It has been reported that Dawood is a trustee at the SETI Institute, which is a charitable organisation situated in the state of California. There have been rumours circulating that OceanGate Expeditions CEO and founder Stockton Rush was on board the vessel that went on the expedition to the wreck of the Titanic. OceanGate Expeditions was the business that organised the expedition.

According to reports, Paul-Henry Nargeolet, 73 years old and from France, was also aboard the submarine.

While everything was going on, ships and planes from the United States and Canada searched for a missing submarine off the coast of southeastern Canada on Monday. The submarine had been bringing visitors to see the ruins of the Titanic when it went missing more than a day earlier.

The United States Coast Guard stated that there was one pilot and four passengers on board and that the vessel had the ability to remain submerged for 96 hours, but it was unknown if it was still underwater or had surfaced and was unable to communicate. The vessel had the capability to remain submerged for 96 hours.

US Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger told reporters that American and Canadian ships and planes had swarmed the area approximately 900 miles (1,450 km) east of Cape Cod. Some of the planes and ships are believed to have dropped sonar buoys that can monitor to a depth of 13,000 feet (3,962 metres), according to the reports.

OceanGate Expeditions, the private business that owns and runs the submarine, has issued a statement in which it says it is “mobilising all options” to save the people who are currently on board. Hamish Harding, a billionaire from the United Kingdom, is one of the passengers.

An earlier tweet from the United States Coast Guard stated that a surface vessel known as the Polar Prince had lost touch with a submarine known as the Titan approximately one hour and forty-five minutes after the Titan had begun its descent towards the location of the ruins of the Titanic on Sunday morning.
