Amazon Prime Lite subscriptions are now being tested in India. Amazon has changed the cost of Prime membership multiple times over the years and periodically adds new subscription tiers. Before Amazon decided to increase the cost of a Prime membership in December 2021, it was one of the more cheap options. Since the cost was increased to Rs 1499 for a year, Amazon Prime has become unaffordable. In response to this, Amazon is currently trying a more affordable plan in India.

Amazon is reportedly testing a new “Prime Lite” plan there, according to Onlytech. The price for the yearly subscription plan is Rs 999. Compared to the standard package, which costs Rs 1,000, you would save Rs 500. In exchange for the decreased rates, buyers will have to put up with a few inconveniences.

While same-day and one-day delivery are not available, Prime Lite offers limitless free two-day and standard delivery. Additionally, Prime members could get 5% cash back when using their ICICI credit card with Amazon Pay.

Customers can also watch commercials on Amazon Prime Video. Furthermore, Prime Video only provides standard definition (SD) material, and a maximum of two devices may watch content simultaneously. Of course, you may watch sports in real time as well.

Only a tiny portion of Prime members in India are presently allowed to use the plan because it is still under beta testing. When the beta test period is through, Amazon may start pushing the plan as a more affordable subscription option for Prime users who also want access to the Prime Video streaming service.

The finest benefit is that customers can watch their favourite TV shows and movies on their laptops and smart TVs, unlike the mobile-only alternative. The Rs 1499 annual subscription, which provides access to all Amazon services, is still available to individuals who want the works.
