Apple’s plans to open a retail store in India, which have been discussed for years, are finally moving forward. Apple’s first Indian retail store, Apple BKC, is set to debut in Mumbai’s Jio World Drive Mall later this month.

Apple’s BKC shop design was influenced by the colourful Kaali Peeli taxi murals found only in Mumbai. The colourful depictions of the stickers blend images of the many Apple products and services that visitors will be able to use. A friendly ‘Hey Mumbai!’ and the standard Apple greeting greet passers-by in the store’s window displays.

A new Apple BKC wallpaper and Apple Music playlist are available to celebrate the opening of Apple’s first store in India.

After the April opening of the BKC store, rumours have circulated that Apple had plans to open a second store in New Delhi. As soon as next month, we may get confirmation that the New Delhi store will be placed in the bustling Pick Citywalk Mall in Saket. The store’s reported size in New Delhi is over 10,000 square feet.

Apple had an 18% boost in sales to 2 million iPhones in India during the holiday-heavy fourth quarter of 2022. (quarter over quarter).

By 2022, the iPhone’s share of the Indian market will have risen from 5% in 2018 to 5.5%.
