Apple introduced the latest version of watchOS, watchOS 10, at WWDC 2023. This new operating system will provide Apple Watch users all around the world with a new widgets view, updated applications, improvements to workouts, mood monitoring, and other features.

watchOS 10, which is currently in beta testing for developers, is scheduled for general availability this autumn as a free software upgrade. watchOS 10 gives applications a fresh appearance by redesigning them. Applications including Weather, Stocks, Home, Maps, Messages, and the World Clock on the Apple Watch now utilise more of the display on the Apple Watch to provide more information that can be seen at a glance.

Additionally, WatchOS 10 added practical widgets, which can be accessible by scrolling with the Digital Crown on compatible watches. The Activity app on Apple Watch and the Fitness app on iPhone make it much simpler to keep track of the amount of daily movement that you put in thanks to the addition of new details, improvements to sharing, a redesigned trophy case, and tips from Apple Fitness+ trainers.

“Palette” and an animated “Peanuts” face that features Snoopy and Woodstock are the two new watch faces that are available after installing the update. The backdrop colours of the World Clock now change dynamically, while the Activity app now features improved navigation icons, a trophy case, and a full-screen view of the Activity Ring.

The upgrade to watchOS 10 also offers brand new cycling training capabilities, such as Functional Threshold Power and Power Zones, in addition to a full-screen iPhone view and other enhancements. Integration with Compass and Maps has been added to Hiking, and watchOS 10 has a Workout API for third-party developers to utilise.

The new mood-tracking element of the Mindfulness app allows users to not only cycle through a variety of feelings but also log information about their experience. The Health app for the iPhone will then give insights based on this data after it has been collected. By displaying the time in daylight, which is also included in the Health app, a new feature has been added with the intention of lowering the likelihood of developing myopia.

According to Apple, “watchOS 10 is a major milestone and an energising new approach for Apple Watch, introducing a fresh new design for quickly viewing information, delightful new watch faces, new features for cyclists and hikers, and important tools for health.” (watchOS 10 is a major milestone and an exhilarating new approach for Apple Watch).
